Grizzly Creek Framing

The Lightning Project

This framing project is worthy of its own showcase!

It is truly one of the most amazing stories we have ever encountered. We were chosen to create a display with the articles of clothing that were worn by a golfer who was stuck by lightning while playing a course in Grand Lake, Colorado. The man survived the strike and one would wonder how when you look closely at the clothing that we framed.

A Special Note: As we slowly and carefully pieced all of the pieces of clothing back together, we were amazed at the the condition of each piece. We had never seen materials shredded and charred from a lightning strike.  We could follow the path of the lightning from the hat to the shoes. The metal on the shorts zipper was fused and the metal ball marker that was in a pocket had traces of carbon on it.  The shoes were blown off him and their laces were found several feet away (and still tied).

Study the pictures carefully, you too will be amazed! The goal was to design a piece that would tastefully and dramatically display everything he was wearing on that day. It would eventually be used for a traveling educational display.  The golfer survived this encounter without critical injuries, but his life would forever be changed. It is obvious from this display that Mother Nature is completely in charge!
